Steve Harvey: Comedian Signs Multi Year Deal to Host Miss Universe, Report Says:

Despite his shameful blunder in the final outcome of the Miss Universe pageant on Sunday, host Steve Harvey will probably be returning to the stage multiple sources support to ET.

The source says the deal is for at least three years, maybe as many as seven or six.

Contract discussions came to the wire, as stated by the source. While Harvey had been announced as the host of this year before the contract was finalized, the production did not begin booking his journey until only a few days before the show.

When the title was designed to go Miss Philippines as the brand new Miss Universe, Miss Colombia was incorrectly named by Harvey during Sunday’s program. Harvey apologized and clarified the mistake on live TV while the crown was removed from the head of Miss Colombia and put on a stunned and bewildered Miss Philippines.

Nevertheless, WME/IMG — the media agency that bought the Miss Universe Organization from Donald Trump before this year — “actually adores” Harvey, the source explains. In light of the focus Harvey’s blunder has brought to the pageant, they probably don’t have any qualms about bringing him back.

Based on Harvey, who’s also repped by WME, the mix up came about because he did not rehearse as the victor hadn’t yet been determined who’d be Miss Universe.
