Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: 40 crore plus starting for the Salman Khan-Sonam Kapoor starrer?

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: 40 crore plus starting for the Salman Khan-Sonam Kapoor starrer?

The Sooraj Barjatya-directed movie indicates his banner, Rajshri Films and Salman’s cooperation together with the director after a difference of 16 years.

“The opening has been quite powerful. It needs to be somewhere around Rs 35-40 crore (today) as per early approximations. The weekend group should be around Rs 110-120 crore. It’s joyous season, with Salman and Barjatya’s combo that’s working,” said provider Girish Wankhede.

Commerce analyst Taran Adarsh said the film got the leg-up on account of the mix of Salman Rajshri movies. “The opening is extraordinary across the nation. The advance bookings as well as the buzz so far has been fantastic,” he told PTI.

Earlier this year, Salman’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” shot an opening of almost 27.25 crore and “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” is anticipated to make more than that at the box office.

“It’s appealing to the family audience since it’s a clean movie. The morning shows were bunched by parents who were seeing the movie by making use of their kids, although not only the day shows. That’s a huge favorable signal,” Gianchandani said. When inquired in case the picture will surpass the life record of “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” (almost Rs 320-crore pan India) Manoj Desai, exhibitor and executive director, Gaiety Galaxy, said, “it’s too early to say if the picture will break Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s record but folks are loving the picture. All shows are houseful and yet the advance booking for the weekend is extremely powerful.”

When inquired if “Tamasha” will be affected due to “Prem Ratan…”, Wankhede answered in negative. “‘Tamasha’ is going to have an audience of its own. There’s a gap of a couple of weeks, which is tremendous for any large budget film to enjoy an entire run in today’s times where we’ve 20-25 shows per day at multiplexes. There’s no risk to Tamasha,” he said.
