Lufthansa: Airline Cancels 136 Long Haul and Connecting Flights Tuesday as Strike Continues

Lufthansa: Airline Cancels 136 Long Haul and Connecting Flights Tuesday as Strike Continues:

The statement marks an escalation between the UFO union as well as the airline in a dispute over transition payments.

The airline affirmed that 2300 GMT would be impacted from 4am (0300 GMT) Wednesday until midnight Friday.

The strike started on Friday at the three principal airports in Germany, with tens of thousands of passengers changed up to now by hundreds of cancellations.

The union rejected the airline’s latest offer on Monday, saying it made up only a “minimal” development. UFO representatives noted on Tuesday that its pretax earnings forecast lately raised for the year.

Flights managed by Lufthansa subsidiary companies including Germanwings, Austrian Airlines and Swiss won’t be impacted.
