Family concerning 576 Telangana martyrs to get jobs on June 2

After a lengthy delay, the families of Telangana martyrs will eventually get government jobs. Files have cleared to offer employment to the family of 576 T-martyrs who’d given their lives for attaining statehood.

In its 2014 election manifesto, the TRS guaranteed to provide Rs 10 lakh ex gratia besides a job to a member of martyr’s family. Occupations were pending, although the ex gratia was paid.

Telangana state is making arrangements to issue appointment letters to the relatives of martyrs for Telangana on June 2 on the function of the 2nd anniversary of TS formation.

The family members of the T-martyrs since the TRS came to power in June 2014 were wanting government jobs. The party had also been coming under fire from the opposition for failing to provide jobs 20 months after it took power.

As per the modalities, if the family members are not educated, they are going to be given jobs as watchmen, subordinates or sweepers.

If they possess the educational qualifications that are required, they are going to be offered junior helper positions. These occupations will soon be offered to kins of T-martyrs or the partner.

In case the martyr was not married or didn’t have kids, the job will probably be offered to his parents or sibs. If they’re not interested in the occupations, other options will be offered by the authorities like free three- acre agriculture land and bank – linked government subsidy loans for setting up a component for their support.

Beneficiaries are identified in Karimnagar (186), Warangal (96), Nalgonda (64), Medak (58), Nizamabad (43), Ranga Reddy (37), Adilabad (27), Hyderabad (21), Mahbubnagar (19) and Khammam (5). There’s doubt over identification of 20 others.

Following the paths of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the committee headed by sales secretary B.R. Meena had drafted the standards and sent them to the Legal section for acceptance.

“The legal section approved the rules but raised queries over who’d be given precedence in a T-martyr’s family if more than one man sought the occupation,” said a committee member. Appointment letters would be handed over to beneficiaries on the function of TS formation Day on June 2.
